Mike Lawrence, McCracken County Circuit Clerk, Files to run for KY House Representative


Mike Lawrence, 13 year veteran of the McCracken County Circuit Court Clerk, filed the necessary paperwork today to run for District 1 of the Kentucky House of Representatives.
A Western Kentucky native, Mike has been married to Debby, a retired Ballard County teacher, for 34 years. The couple share two sons and two grandchildren.
Mike is a Vietnam Veteran who received two Bronze Stars. He retired from the United States Army Reserve after 24 years of honorable service. Mr. Lawrence received his Bachelor of Science and Master of Arts in Education at Murray State University in Murray, KY.
For the past 13 years, Mike has served McCracken County as the Circuit Court Clerk. Some of the committees on which Mike has served include: Attorney General’s Task Force on Identity Theft, KACCC Education Committee, KACCC Executive Committee 1st District Representative, State Technology Committee, Civil Rules Revision Committee, the McCracken County Democratic Executive Committee and many more. His commitment to the residents of Western Kentucky evidenced by his years of dedicated community involvement and service.
Mike plans to retire from the Circuit Court Clerk’s position later in the year so he may serve as a Representative of Kentucky’s First District full time.
