EPPC SECRETARY VANCE ANNOUNCES DEPUTY SECRETARY
Hank List Returning to Position

FRANKFORT , Ky. (Jan. 25, 2008) – Henry Clay “Hank” List, of Lexington , is returning to the state’s environmental agency as deputy secretary, Environmental and Public Protection Cabinet Secretary Robert D. Vance announced today.

List, 57, served first as deputy secretary, then as secretary in the former Natural Resources and Environmental Protection Cabinet in 2001-2003.

Since 2006, List has been vice president of government relations for the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers. He previously held various legislative and public affairs positions for Kentucky Utilities, Louisville Gas & Electric and East Kentucky Power Cooperative. List also was state representative for the 79th District in Fayette County for three terms from 1978 to 1984. He chaired the Kentucky Water Management Task Force and was a member of the Commission on Hazardous Waste Management.

“I am pleased to be joined by someone with Hank’s remarkable range of experience in this agency, in the regulated community and in the legislature,” Vance said.

“I am excited to be coming back to Frankfort to serve in Governor Beshear’s administration,” List said. “I see a wonderful opportunity to finding innovative ways to stimulate Kentucky ’s economic growth and at the same time protect our environment.”

List’s public service has included membership in the Kentucky Infrastructure Authority, the Kentucky River Authority and the Kentucky Rural Energy Consortium. He has been active in civic organizations, including the Lexington Chamber of Commerce and United Way of the Bluegrass
