Rep. Whitfield Dishes Up Red Meat Partisanship

Rep. Ed Whitfield and the GOP team -nobody looks worried

Rep. Ed Whitfield has a clear sail to re-election this cycle. After his last two opponents lost by double digits, the only person willing to run against him is Charles Hatchett, a Benton resident. Hatchett’s campaign has no funding and no support from the Democratic Party. He wasn’t at St. John’s Picnic on Saturday.

Whitfield was the only candidate who didn’t have to bother to appeal to voters for a job. He knows he’s a lock for re-election. He didn’t feel the need to tout his record. No sense in going into his legislative accomplishments over sixteen years of service in the US Congress.

Instead, he used his time to throw out the first pitch of red meat partisanship of the day.  President Obama and House Leader Nancy Pelosi were the beginning, middle and end of his speech.
