A SLED-DOG RACE IN KENTUCKY ?

A traditionally Nordic sport moves south with increasing popularity spurring community excitement.

Grand Rivers , Kentucky will be hosting the 1st Annual Dryland Mushing event on December 11th and 12th called Between The Lakes Sled Dog Dash. Dryland Mushing is a variation of traditional mushing which uses dryland wheeled carts called Rigs in place of a sled. Siberian and Alaskan Huskies are still primarily used to pull and race.

The Between The Lakes Sled Dog Dash will have not only professional and amateur races, but will have an open class for an exciting
all-in" participation as well. Between The Lakes Sled Dog Dash will combine racing with information and education on recreation opportunities for everyone.

Come out to this exciting and completely unique family event to get hands-on demonstrations or just come out to meet the dogs!

Demonstrations, parade, first heat stage race and more December 11th in Grand Rivers ;  pro and amateur class races and final stage race December 12th at Hillman Ferry in Land Between the Lakes National Recreation Area.
