COMMUNITY CHRISTMAS CONNECTION – Juliana Reyes, (left) director of the Graves County Central Elementary Family Resource Center, and Jennifer Morris, director of the Farmington and Symsonia FRC’s, examine some items in the girls’ toy section of the Community Christmas Connection Store. For the first time, it is located in the former Fancy Farm Elementary School. “We are very grateful to St. Jerome Catholic Church. They’re giving us the building for a week and they’re paying the electric bill. They’re big supporters of this project,” said Fancy Farm and Lowes FRC director Jennifer Fralicx.

Families who face financial difficulties may shop for Christmas gifts for their children. She explained that the process of identifying income-eligible families begins in September and culminates in the first full week of December this year.

Fralicx said the Graves County Truck and Tractor Pullers Association’s August pull raised more than $18,000 for the project, thanks to organizers Ricky Wilson, Larry Wooley, Kenneth Wiggins, and Kenny Wiggins. She said that’s a major source of funding. However, she noted that she and other family resource and youth service center officials will continue to accept donations from those interested in contributing.
