PTHS students attend Senior Beta Convention



PTHS sophomores Margaret Hines and Meredith Morris won first place for the creation of a homemade pillow at the 70th Annual Kentucky Senior Beta Club Convention in Louisville, Kentucky, on December 10-11. Fourteen students attended the convention, along with club sponsors Molly Ross and Todd Ross.

Students from all over the state were in attendance and competed in academic and artistic events as well as running for state offices for next year.

Other Tilghman students entered in events were sophomore Victoria Potter, Science; sophomore Chelsie Brown – spelling; sophomore Casey Myers – English; sophomore Marissa Davis – creative writing; senior Adam Jones – a special talent and math; sophomores Maddie Morris, Meredith Morris, Kirby Black, Hines, and Potter – group banner design; Susannah Wilson – ornament; Black – jewelry design; Meredith Morris – black-and-white photography; Maddie Morris – color photography; Erin Jones, Meredith Morris, and Black – a team poster design; Maddie Morris – recyclable art; Alex Lindsey – holiday card; and Potter – homemade card. Other students in attendance were juniors Will Barker and Jared Holt.

The National Beta Club is the nation's largest independent, non-profit, educational youth organization that focuses on a academic achievement, character, leadership and service.
