New hours at MSU's Pogue Library
Sunday, February 6, 2011 6:43 pm Dieter Ullrich, archives and special collections librarian at Pogue, and Adam Murray, dean of university libraries, introduced these additional hours in response to feedback from community members in the Purchase Area. Genealogical researchers, regional historians and people interested in the social and cultural past of the Jackson Purchase Area of southwest Kentucky and northwest Tennessee can now use the collections at Pogue for local history studies or genealogical studies. Pogue Library contains more than 20,000 publications on county, community and family histories, the American Civil War, Kentucky literature and folklore, and many other subjects distinctive to the Purchase Area. Included in the collections are rare books, manuscript materials, oral histories, maps and other unique items.
