Clark Assistant Principal Stephen G. Ybarzabal has been selected by the Clark Site Based Decision Making Council to be principal of Clark Elementary School. Ybarzabal will assume his duties following Stephen YbarzabalPrincipal Sara West’s retirement at the end of the school year.

“Steve has been an integral part of Clark’s rich tradition for the past five years in his role as assistant principal,” said Site Based Decision Making Council vice chair Jan Godwin.  “The site based council feels that as Steve transitions into the principal position, he will continue to be a role model and will provide exemplary leadership for a totally supportive staff, student body, and parent community in every aspect of education for the Clark School family.”

Principal Sara West concurred, saying “It warms my heart to know that Steve will be here to take care of my Clark School family.  They are in good hands!”

Ybarzabal has served as assistant principal at Clark since 2006. He was Science Department Chair and Head Volleyball Coach at Paducah Tilghman High School from 2000 – 2006. Ybarzabal also served as Dean of Students at St. Mary High School.
