Ft. Campbell Soldier: Cpl. Brandon M. Kirton



Cpl. Brandon M. KirtonFRANKFORT, Ky. (May 20, 2011) – Gov. Steve Beshear today recognized the sacrifice of a Fort Campbell soldier who died while supporting Operation Enduring Freedom.

According to the Department of Defense, Cpl. Brandon M. Kirton, 25, of Centennial, Colo., died May 18 in Kandahar province, Afghanistan, of wounds suffered when insurgents attacked his unit with small arms fire and mortar rounds.  He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 502nd Infantry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 101st Airborne Division, Fort Campbell, Ky.
