Wacky Wednesday

Hi Folks,

Today is once again "Wacky Wednesday".  This week all our hanging baskets will be 25% off the regular price.  You can choose from Ivy Geraniums, Torenia, Bacopa, Scaveola, Wave Petunia, varied houseplants and many more.  We still have a wide selection of annuals for your flower beds also.

I have had several people in this week that are just now getting their flower and vegetable beds ready so you are not the only one running a little later than unusual this year.  I had to check my calendar twice this morning and make sure it was still June and not already August.  It was almost 80 when I opened the doors this morning!  It would be nice if it would just gradually warm up and not just hit you all at once!Japanese Beetle

I know it won't be long before the Japanese Beetles make their appearance and I always have a lot of phone calls wanting to know what to do about them.  Beside the usual traps and Milky Spore treatment you can make your own all purpose insecticide with ingredients right in your cupboard.  This works on a multitude of pests but a word of caution-certain plants can be sensitive to soap and can leaf burn.  Always test a leaf or two the day before spraying the whole plant.  The recipe is 1 Garlic Bulb, 1 small onion, 1 Teaspoon powdered cayenne pepper, 1 quart water and 1 Tablespoon of liquid dish soap.  Be sure and use dish soap and not laundry detergent.Parsley

I hope this helps with any critters you might have in your garden this summer.  This is alot easier on the environment that products you buy off the shelf and it is a whole lot cheaper!

The herb of the week this week is Parsley.  Regular $3.99-this week $1.99.  We have some beautiful plants so grab a few so you will have lots of fresh to cut this summer.

Fresh produce is coming in daily.  Romaine, spring mix, broccoli, cabbage, radFresh Produceishes, green onions, kale, Try to stay cool and drink lots of water this week.

 Happy Gardening!
