A Falcon Celebration

Jerry and Valerie Peery donated $2500 to the Falcon Academy

A Falcon Celebration took place in the Hickman County High School library on August 10, 2011 in recognition of the 2011-2012 Falcon Academy.

Falcon Academy started during the 2010-2011 Hickman County school year and continues to grow throughout the school system. Students participated in dual-credit classes for college hours and saved hundreds if not thousands or dollars toward college expenses.

At the Falcon Celebration, Superintendent Kenny Wilson began by thanking the parents, students, staff, the participating colleges and special guest for attending this great event. This celebration was to show the schools appreciation towards the sponsors who had made this Academy a possibility.

Wilson proceeded with the results from the previous year. All students’ expenses, including tuition and books, were paid in full making the program a total success. He was more than happy to share that the second year of Falcon Academy had been paid in full as well.

The students and parents applauded the sponsors for the support they had given. The school had much appreciation for all that they had done to further the seniors’ education while providing them with guidance towards a better future. A complimentary dessert and drinks were provided for each individual who attended the Celebration.

Among these sponsors was Jerry Peery, who had won the Monsanto Award for Hickman County. He received $2,500 in which he donated to the Falcon Academy. He stated that if he wins again that he will gladly continue to give it to the school.

Along with the Peerys, representatives from each sponsor were present including: First Community Bank-R.E Hales Family, Clinton Bank, Jackson Purchase ACA, Four Rivers Scholarship Foundation and the Hickman County Board of Education.Representatives of First Community Bank- R.E Hales Family

Falcon Academy was such a success the first year that it has been chosen to be presented at the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP) Conference in Mystic Connecticut on October 23, 2011.
