August 30, 2011 (Mayfield, KY) -  MPD Officer Tye Jackson recently received an “Award of Excellence” from Crisis Intervention Training for his service to the program that was deemed to be “above and beyond” what was expected.  Additionally, because of his work with this program, he has been asked to be a speaker at the International CIT Conference in Virginia Beach later in September.

Jackson, who has recently returned to the Mayfield Police Department, also has been appointed as Commander of the West Kentucky Hostage Negotiation Team, which covers all of KSP’s Post 1 areas and its counties’ sheriff’s departments.

The City of Mayfield is proud of the quality and work efforts of all of its personnel and, according to Mayor Teresa Cantrell, Jackson is just one of many. “We have some of the best employees, and they are constantly amazing me at their ‘extra efforts’ on behalf of the City of Mayfield.”
