West Kentuckian, Glenn Denton, Named to Postsecondary Education Council

WEST KENTUCKIAN NAMED TO POSTSECONDARY EDUCATION COUNCIL

Glenn Denton was one of new three members named to the Council on Postsecondary Education by Governor Beshear on Friday, June 6th.

Denton, shown at left with Kentucky State Auditor Crit Luallen at a Democratic event in Paducah last summer, is a Paducah attorney.

Other new members of the Council will be former Governor Paul Patton and former Lexington Mayor Pam Miller.   All three new members bring a depth of knowledge about higher education in Kentucky.

Their appointments come at a time that higher education is struggling with declining revenue and an increasing costs and the need for a noncontroversial president. The Council was embarassed by a flawed candidate selection process last summer. After Governor Beshear was elected, he butted heads with former Council head over funding and other issues.
