Mayfield moving ahead with strategic planning
NOTICE OF A SPECIAL CALLED MEETING OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF MAYFIELD, KENTUCKY For Saturday, January 28, 2012
To: Jana Adams, Johnny Jackson, Barry McDonald, Phil Myers, Kathy O’Nan, Al Page, Wayne Potts, Jonathan Stinson, Nick Summers, and Chuck Whitnell;
You are hereby notified that there will be a special meeting of the City Council of the City of Mayfield, Kentucky, in the Council Chambers at City Hall, on Saturday, January 28, 2012, beginning at 9:00AM, for the following purposes:
1. A Strategic Planning session to develop a Mission Statement for the City of Mayfield.
2. A Strategic Planning session to identify city services that need attention, and the prioritization of those needs. Discussion may include who is responsible, potential partnerships, pitfalls to watch for, how to budget for these items, and projections for 2-5 years if implemented.
3. A Strategic Planning session to discuss Mayfield’s Legacy Opportunities – including what transformative opportunities might exist for Mayfield in the next 1-3 years. Outcome of discussion would be to identify specific opportunities that the city may wish to address in the immediate future, identify steps to be taken, and who might be involved, funding to be found, etc.
I call this meeting as Mayor of the City of Mayfield, Kentucky, pursuant to the powers vested in me in the Kentucky Revised Statutes.
