GSA has been serving students across Kentucky since its inception in 1987. GSA’s summer program and outreach programs are free to all students who participate. However, tuition, room, board and supplies for the summer program cost $2,800 per student for the students who participate each year at Transylvania University in Lexington. While the state provides funding, GSA relies on generous donations from the statewide community to support its programs. The Center funds GSA through its Endowment Fund, as well as through fund-raising efforts by the GSA Advisory Council, which is made up of representatives from around the state.
