June 14, 2012 (Mayfield, KY) The second mural in the new series of murals planned by Mayor Teresa Cantrell will be completed this Saturday. The mural will be located on the west side of the D&D Shoes Building (formerly the Merit Clothing Company). Crews have been working this week to install the framework that will hold the new mural, which will be 35'x 17' overall and will feature a 3-D effect.

Native Mayfieldian Rudy Holmes, a graduate of the Mayfield High School Class of 1967, is the designer of the mural. The public is invited to watch the mural go up throughout the day on Saturday. The mural's sponsors are First Kentucky Bank and D&D Shoes.

Prints of the mural will be available for purchase at a special area set up on the courthouse lawn on Saturday evening during the Cruise-In and Summer Music Fest Concert. Prints are numbered, and Rudy Holmes will be on hand that evening to personally sign any prints that are purchased. The sale price for the prints is $25.00 and they are 11" x 17". Additionally, notecards with the mural design will be available for purchase as well.
