BOLO out for driver with concrete wheels

UPDATE KY 3061 has been repaired at this site. We continue to ask the public for information on the vehicle that damaged the fresh concrete and forced a delay in reopening the roadway. entucky Transportation Cabinet is requesting the assistance of the public to locate the driver of a vehicle that disregarded several Road Closed signs and moved a Road Closed barricade to drive through freshly poured concrete on KY 3061 in Hickman County sometime today. KY 3061 in HICKMAN County was scheduled to reopen today east of the Nichols community following extended closures for replacement of several cross drains. However, the roadway will have to remain closed for up to two more days after someone drove around ROAD CLOSED signs, moved barricades, and drove through freshly poured concrete at one of the repair sites. Due to damage to the uncured concrete, the roadway will now have to be jack-hammered and new concrete poured. As a reminder, the penalty for disregarding or moving a traffic control device is about $150 per sign or barricade. Plus, the motorists can be held responsible for the cost of replacing the concrete. Anyone with information on the vehicle that drove through the fresh concrete on KY 3061 today should contact the Kentucky State Police or the Hickman County Sheriff’s Office. This work zone on KY 3061between Brush Creek Road and the KY 307 Intersection. Again, the roadway at this site will have to remain closed for up to 2 more days to allow the damaged concrete to be replaced.
