PTHS senior spends three weeks as page for McConnell

Victoria Potter and Sen. Mitch McConnell - Summer 2012

Paducah Tilghman senior Victoria Potter was given a firsthand learning experience this summer when she was chosen as Senator Mitch McConnell’s page for the summer session.  She was one of 43 pages from across the nation to serve three weeks in Washington, D.C.  Pages discover what living on Capitol Hill and working inside the United States Senate are like.

“Paging this summer was definitely the experience of a lifetime," said Potter.  "The most effective way to learn about government is to work on Capitol Hill.  This experience made it clear that politics are not just a class or career, but a passion.”
