Western Baptist offered team members time to see the Da Vinci surgical robot

North Marshall Middle School student Kohl Wittington practices on the da Vinci Surgical Robot as obstetrician/gynecologist Brad Housman, M.D., explains how it functions to other students.

Dr. Housman and surgery nurse Amanda Casebier, R.N., provided hands-on education to the team which will compete in a national competition called BEST (Boosting Engineering Science and Technology) in November in Nashville, Tenn. The experience at Western Baptist offered team members time to see the Da Vinci surgical robot and consider how its functions can aid in their design of a robot at the competition.
