The Civil War returns to Columbus Belmont Park on Friday, October 12th. Around 400 schoolchildren will be treated to demonstrations by artists and experts in antebellum arts and crafts. School buses from around the region will empty and fill with students all day Friday. Park Director Cindy Lynch is excited that this year's Civil War Days are coming after fall break for many systems. In years past, the event fell squarely during a vacation, meaning the children who came visited with their parents. This year's program is set with education in mind.
