Senator Paul filibusters nomination of CIA director

Mary Potter, West Kentucky Journal

Senator Rand Paul stands on the floor of the US Senate and talks and talks and talks and talks.

For hours.

Paul admitted at one point that he would probably not stop John Brennan from becoming CIA director. But he wanted to discuss - at length - US drone policy.

The Senator began the marathon after Attorney General Eric Holder did not give him answers to questions on policies related to drone strikes that have killed American citizens.

Senator Paul repeatedly said that his objection is not as much personal against the President, but he worries about the policy and future practitioners.

C-Span 2 is reporting there may be a vote on Brennan's nomination tomorrow.

Since a major snowstorm is bearing down on the nation's capital, that may not happen.
