UPDATE - January 13, 2014 - Hickman County Judge Greg Pruitt shocked the Fiscal Court this morning when he announced he will not be running for another term.
Pruitt had already drawn a Democratic challenger in Joey McGee, a local contractor.
Within minutes of the meeting, Jailer Chad Frizzell announced he too would run for the top county job. Frizzell said his phone had been ringing constantly since Pruitt's announcement.
Magistrate Tommy Roberts opined that more than just two candidates for the job held by one man for more than 20 years.
"There will be a lot of them gettin' in now." Roberts predicted.
