Grimes breaks fundraising record | Alison Lundergan Grimes, US Senate race, Mitch McConnell, Kentucky,

Secretary of State Alison Lundergan Grimes - hitting a fundraising high in the 2nd quarter.

FRANKFORT – Today, Alison for Kentucky is proud to announce our campaign has led the nation and broken a Kentucky fundraising record, raising over $4 million in the second quarter of 2014.

Over 100,000 of our campaign’s contributions thus far have been under $50, highlighting the strong and growing momentum behind Alison’s focus on Kentucky’s middle-class families. To date, the Grimes campaign has raised nearly $11.3 million – an impressive fundraising effort fueled by almost 84,000 individual grassroots supporters and a median contribution of $25. Our campaign has built a war chest of $6.2 million, equipping us with the resources needed to win this race.

“Kentuckians are coming together to invest in our campaign because they recognize that Alison Lundergan Grimes will bring a new generation of leadership to the U.S. Senate,” Grimes campaign manager Jonathan Hurst said Tuesday morning. “As Mitch McConnell turns to his Washington special interest allies to bankroll his campaign, our grassroots campaign is driven by our supporters in all of Kentucky’s 120 counties.”

For over a year now, Alison for Kentucky has built a strong foundation for a cutting-edge, grassroots campaign – the likes of which the Commonwealth has never seen. The record-breaking quarter allows the Grimes campaign to deliver Alison’s forward-looking vision to all corners of Kentucky and ultimately win in November.
