Leadership students and sponsors spent the day at granery, hog and dairy farms.

On December 11, 2014, the Hickman County High School Chamber of Commerce Leadership Group had an Agriculture theme day.

First, students and sponsors visited Burgess Brothers. Josh Burgess spoke to us about the history of the company and gave us a tour. He went on to show us how the trucks were loaded and unloaded and how they tested the grain.

The next stop was Kimbell Farms. Klint Kimbell gave a tour of the hog barns. He explained how the business worked, where the hogs arrive from, where the hogs go after departing from Kimbell farms.

Finally, the Class visited Cliff and Kenny Humphrey's Dairy Farm. During a tour of the farm, Humphrey spoke about the history of the farm and how the farm operates. He also explained how they milked the cows and where the milk goes after leaving the dairy farm.

At the end of the day, one student spoke for the class. "We all enjoyed seeing how the agricultural businesses in Hickman County operate. It was a great day."
