Riders & Rockabilly at DPA this weekend | Discovery Park of America, West Tennessee, Union City, West Kentucky,

UNION CITY, TN- Discovery Park of America is hosting the Riders and Rockabilly Fish Fry July 24th and 25th from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the Train Depot on the grounds at Discovery Park. This event is the final event of the month long Rider's and Rockabilly Music Festival throughout West Tennessee. Admission is free and there will be live music, giant water slides, a fun kid's train and a festive fish fry both evenings.

"We are having a very family friendly event," Event Director Rick Adams said. "We will have a giant inflatable water slides, face painting and train rides for children throughout both evenings for no charge." In addition, guests can enjoy a fish dinner prepared by Reelfoot Lake's Blue Bank Restaurant. Adult dinners are $10 plus tax and children's dinners are $5.00 plus tax. "Admission is free, so everyone can bring their own bag chair and come out to the park and enjoy the music, even if they don't want to eat." he added. Adult and regular beverages will be available at the train, and there will be a Shaved Ice truck on sight for people who are hot and thirsty!

Friday evening, Rockabilly music will set the tone at the Train Depot until 6:30, when Bullet Town takes the stage. Saturday evening, live music will begin at 5:00 p.m. with Boomer Nation playing until 6:00 and then Chad Karnes and the Missing Fifth (at left) will begin at 6:30 and play until 9:00. "The fish fry will begin at 5:00 p.m. both evenings and continue until everyone is fed or Blue Bank runs out of fish!" Adams added.

"Our employees are so excited about this event," said Jim Rippy, CEO. We think it is going to be one of the most fun, family oriented events we have had, since so much of it is free. Free entrance, free music, free water slides and train rides for the kids and a very reasonable fish dinner if someone wants to come for the evening an eat while they are here." "We chose fish, because there isn't a restaurant specializing in fish in Union City right now, so we're bringing Reelfoot Lake's fried fish to town!"

Our sponsors are the National Guard, JD Distributors, Inc. and First Choice Farm & Lawn, Inc. The sponsors will have information and items on display both evenings.

If you have questions about the event, you are welcome to call Discovery Park and ask for the Event Department.

The series of Rockabilly festivals began in Jackson July 3 - 5, moved to Ripley July 9 - 11, heads to Brownsville July 16 - 19 and finishes up in Union City July 24 and 25. Discovery Park of America is a 50-acre park that has changed the landscape of Northwest, Tennessee.
