The New Kentucky Project: New Ideas. New Leaders

Adam Edelen, cofounder of New Kentucky Project, is a frequent visitor to Western Kentucky

Kentucky Sports Radio founder Matt Jones, shown at right below, and former State Auditor Adam Edelen launched their long awaited New Kentucky Project on Tuesday. Jones and Edelen held a press conference at 2:00 Tuesday August, 16th at the Livery in downtown Lexington in an effort to detail the group's goals and membership.

Jones and Edelen were joined by Congressman John Yarmuth, members of the Kentucky General Assembly, and members of New Kentucky Project's Executive Committee.

NKP's mission statement from the website states:

The New Kentucky Project seeks to move Kentucky forward and modernize our state through a variety of different policy initiatives. However we do acknowledge that there will be differences of opinion amongst some Kentuckians on issues and we seek to embrace those differences, rather than rigidly accept the two-party dichotomy so often required in today's politics. We believe that where intelligent, well-meaning people disagree, consensus can be built through discussion and education.
