Jerry Abramson - out of DC and back in Louisville

As power of the White House is being transferred over to the Republicans, a well known Kentucky Democrat, Jerry Abramson is coming home. For the past several years, Abramson has held jobs as Mayor of Louisville, Lt. Governor to Governor Steve Beshear from 2011 to 2014. His last job was special advisor to President Obama as an expert on local issues and governments.

This latest job put Abramson's office within the Executive Office of the President. Abramson served on the President's Domestic Council. His official title was Presidential Liaison to state and local governments. As part of his turf was about one billion dollars resting in special funds from the White House on energy, infrastructure, climate change, and urban rebuilding.

Abramson will be spending his professional time at Bellarmine University, back in Louisville. Official word from Bellarmine University is that Abramson will teach courses on leadership and civics.

He will also work to design and establish a new institute for local government leaders. He envisions a center that will work to give special understanding and insight to the challenges of administrating local government.
