Susanna French of Benton in Marshall County Kentucky was elected in 2017 President of the National Federation of Democratic Women. French also serves Emerge KY Board Vice Chair. Emerge KY trains Democratic women to run for office. The organization boasts a 70% success rate for their candidates.

She will serve a two-year national term where she will travel around the country speaking to Democratic Women's Clubs and advocating on behalf of women. In this national position, Susanna will also serve as a member of the Democratic National Committee (DNC).

She was the youngest woman ever elected president of the Democratic Woman's Club of Kentucky after she had served four years as state treasurer. French is the general manager of Alexander Development - Premier Disaster Restoration and the co-owner of Personal Security Firearms with her husband, Jamie French.
