Below: Mike Lawrence, McCracken Circuit Clerk and candidate for  the1st District Kentucky House seat, explained the $62,000 raise for LRC director Bobby Sherman in his remarks. He is opposed to it and has already called for the decision to be reversed. Lawrence told the crowd that they have the choice between a part time legislator in Steve Rudy and a full time one in his candidacy. "And you won't pay any more for full time",  he joked.

Representative Fred Nesler came on behalf of candidate Bruce Lunsford. He told the crowd that it should be hard to vote for a man 24 years in, office and nothing to show for it. He told the crowd that looking into McConnell's eyes, one can see he won't help you. Mitch has never pushed for health care, education needs, foster care,  energy issues or jobs, Nesler said.

Former Congressman Carroll Hubbard reminded listeners he served seven years in the Kentucky state senate and 18 years in Congress.  He is running for his old seat in the Kentucky Senate. Hubbard said that the Governor had been to Carlisle County twice and is aware that Carlisle County Elementary needs to be replaced.

Hubbard said that while there is economic activity in Ballard County, that Fulton, Hickman and Carlisle Counties have little activity. Hubbard attends area high school graduations. Many students at those graduations will leave their home counties and not come back.
