Hooch Trucks Encircle the Capitol

Trucks bearing the logo of several well known alcoholic beverages circled the Capitol in Frankfort today protesting a proposed raise in the liquor tax.
According to eyewitness reports, the truckers tied up traffic - creating a bit of a jam during the noon hour.
Tourists and school groups visiting the Capital City got an up close and personal look at democracy in action.
Despite the protest, the proposed tax was passed out of a House committee today.

The sign in a car window and on the Samuel Adams beer truck express the feelings of distributors on proposed tax.

Jim Beam, one of Kentucky's premier bourbon distillers showed up as did the Teamsters. Below, a lone protester stands in the boulevard on Capital Avenue.

For the record, UK wasn't protesting, they just happened to be at the Capitol visiting - maybe showing up for a little love before the Florida game tonight?
