Dr. Robin Reams, a Berea oncologist and member of Physicians for National Healthcare Program, presented HR 676 Single-payer Healthcare plan to the Democratic Women's Club of KY in London this past weekend.  "No other industrialized nation allows its citizens to go bankrupt due to medical bills!" said Dr. Reams.   "HR 676 ensures quality healthcare and freedom of choice, eliminates deductibles and co-pays, saves hundreds of billions of dollars by reducing wasteful paperwork & admin costs, frees American businesses from the burden of escalating healthcare costs, liberates employees & unions from dependence on employers for health insurance, and guarantees a comprehensive health care program for everyone!"

KDW Club members wore hats to the meeting to commemorate the suffragettes who were ordered to remove their hats in court rooms because their hat pins were considered a threat. The group had a Derby Hat Auction.

In addition to Treasurer Kathy Jo Stubblefield, several West Kentucky women were at the meeting:

Norma Bell, Gladys Morphew
