Julian Carroll - Back in West Kentucky

McCracken County native and former governor Julian Carroll came down from his home in Frankfort (“you gotta live where the grandchildren are”) to greet old friends and preach the message that “you can be a Christian and be a Democrat”.

Carroll told the crowd that the state of Kentucky insures one million people. That, according to Carroll, is one quarter of the state population. The state spends seven billion dollars on health care.

The Washington Post reported this morning that Kansas Department of Health became the first government agency to cite carbon dioxide emissions as the reason for rejecting an air permit for a proposed coal fired electricity generating plant, saying that the greenhouse gas threatens public health and environment.
