(Frankfort KY) - Crit Luallen was sworn in on Friday, November 14th to become the second woman to serve as Kentucky's Lieutenant Governor.

She took the oath before a crowd of 500 in the Rotunda of the State Capitol.

Winners at Project Leadership 2014 announced


MURRAY, Ky. -- More than 350 students and their teachers from nine West Kentucky schools participated in the sixth annual Project Leadership Workshop at Murray State University Nov. 3.

The schools were Ballard Memorial, Livingston County, Graves County, Hickman County, Dawson Springs Junior and Senior High, Marshall County, Calloway County, Reidland Middle, Fulton County ATC and the YMCA Black Achievers from Louisville.

Musician Chris Thile honored as outstanding alum

MURRAY, Ky. -- Grammy Award-winning musician Chris Thile won the 2014 Outstanding Alumni in Fine Arts award, presented at the sixth annual A Taste of the Arts Dinner and Auction at Murray State University in October.

Thile, of Punch Brothers, is a mandolin virtuoso, composer and vocalist. In a review of his latest release, Who's Feeling Young Now?, London's Independent called Thile "the most remarkable mandolinist in the world."
