Farm Programs Meant Millions to Kentucky in 2007
The Farm Service Agency (FSA) released a list of loans and grant programs given to Kentucky farmers, “agricultural producers”, during the year 2007. Reading the amounts, it becomes clear that agriculture income to the state comes from not just crops and livestock sold, but in the money farmers are able to put into the stream of commerce because of these federal programs.

...According to recently released reports from two national financial ratings services, Kentucky could be facing long-term negative implications for the state’s debt service. The Second Congressional District
With Shelby and a piece of Jefferson Counties on the northeast edges and Daviess and Warren Counties on the western edges, the 2nd is a district with military ties – Ft. Knox, Ft. Campbell with active duty and retirees in the thousands. It's a district with blue collar workers, farmers, small towns and heartland values. The Second Congressional District held family values before there was a name for it.

Daviess and McCracken Counties Air Quality Gets Worse
In Kentucky, twelve counties’ grades improved, while only three counties’ (Daviess, McCracken, and Oldham) grades worsened. While the calculated three-year average increased only very slightly, Daviess’ and Oldham’s grades decreased due to additional exceedances of the ozone standard. McCracken’s grade decreased due to fine particulate matter.
