Red Flag law targets dangerous individuals - but roils 2A devotees

...The purpose of Indiana's red flag law is to prevent someone who is considered to be a safety threat from buying or possessing firearms until their mental state can be assessed or the issue otherwise resolved. A similar law proposed for Kentucky died during the 2019 session of the General Assembly.

So much for any commonsense proposal that comes close to touching on the inalienable rights of gun owners, sellers and manufacturers.

West Kentucky Political Parties Emerge for 2019 Statewide Elections

There are three political issue driven parties in West Kentucky. One is the Democratic Party, mirrored by the Republican Party. Both of these institutions have been in play for about 50 years of tradition and issues. Each has established core beliefs on selected issues comfortable to a "white male voter" power base. A third group is just now taking shape. They are the independent/climate change/Trump resistance folks who are merging into a strong base outside the more traditional Kentucky political parties...

(Fancy Farm 2019) - Rep. Richard Heath, (R-House 2- Graves and part of McCracken) wasted an opportunity on August 3rd. Instead of extolling the virtue of Graves County, the place he claims as his forever home, Heath launched into a grossly unamusing attack on candidates on the other side of the platform.

It was embarrassing. There is much good that Heath has been part of and witness to in Graves County. No one could tell it from his three minute speech.
