Clinton police chief resigns in sex scandal
Clinton Police Chief Tracy House submitted his resignation to Mayor Fred Cox on Friday, November 20th. House’s sudden exit came after a search of a police computer at Clinton City Hall turned up photos reportedly of the Chief with several women in sexually explicit positions.  That same afternoon, the story broke on the five o’clock broadcast of Channel 6 News out of Paducah.
The computer is now in state police custody. No criminal charges have been brought and from all reports, no criminal charges will be brought. No minors were involved in what some are calling the "sex tapes". There is no evidence that House meant to distribute the photos. His resignation was reported to be based violating the city's policies.

Clinton City Council members were taken by surprise by the chief’s resignation. Several council members tried to discuss the resignation with Mayor Fred Cox, but were unable to reach him.
In a statement issued to this site, Councilman Jeff Morrow stated he “knew nothing about the incident until he received a call from Councilman Howard Dillard on Saturday who heard it on the 10pm channel 6 news report”.
Morrow tried to contact the Mayor by phone and even went to his house. None of the council had been informed and as of this date the Mayor has not contacted the individual council members or tried to call a special meeting. Morrow stated there is a lack of communication between the Mayor and the Clinton City Council. This is an ongoing problem which we have tried to correct.
Mayor Cox was interviewed by Channel 6 on Tuesday and the Mayor told the reporter that getting House’s resignation was as painful as cutting off a limb. Cox is now running the city police department. Chief House had complained in the past that the Mayor wanted to micromanage the police department.
