Lots of appointments to lots of boards

FRANKFORT, Ky. (Dec. 17, 2010) – Gov. Steve Beshear has made the following appointments to Kentucky boards and commissions:

Gov. Beshear has appointed Charles Beach III to the Kentucky Housing Corporation Board of Directors to serve for a term expiring Oct. 30, 2014.

    * Charles Beach III, of Beattyville, is a banker with Peoples Exchange Bank.  He represents consumer interests.  The appointment replaces Keith L. Free, whose term has expired. 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Samuel Earl Lee to the board to serve for a term expiring Oct. 30, 2014.

    * Samuel Earl Lee, of Somerset, is an insurance agent with Lee Insurance.  He represents interests of the manufactured housing industry.
 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Animal Diagnostic Laboratory Advisory Committee to serve for terms expiring April 18, 2014:

    * Robert E. VanHook, of Cynthiana, is a self-employed farmer.  He represents farmers.  The appointment replaces Timothy W. White, whose term has expired.

    * Wade A. Northington, of Hopkinsville, is veterinarian at Murray State Univeristy.  He represents Murray State University.  The appointment replaces James A. Rudolph, whose term has expired.

    * James P. Morehead, of Lexington, is a self-employed veterinarian.  He represents veterinarians.  The appointment replaces James S. Chism, whose term has expired.

    * Nancy M. Cox, of Lexington, is an administrator at the University of Kentucky.  She represents the University of Kentucky.  The appointment replaces M. Scott Smith, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Dwight D. Butler to the committee to serve for a term expiring April 18, 2014.

    * Dwight D. Butler, of Harned, is a member of the Kentucky General Assembly representing the 18th House District.  He represents the Kentucky General Assembly.


Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky State Advisory Council on Libraries to serve for terms expiring Dec. 17, 2014.  The appointments are effective Dec. 18, 2010.

    * Paul M. Poland, of Georgetown, is retired.  He represents library users.  The appointment replaces Shauna L. Patton, whose term has expired.

    * Carol Messer Mitchell, of Mt. Olivet, is the library director at Robertson County Public Library.  She represents public libraries.  The appointment replaces Garry B. Collum, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the council to serve for terms expiring Dec. 17, 2014.  The reappointments are effective Dec. 18, 2010.

    * Karl A. Benson, of Stanford, is the library director at Danville Library Inc.  He represents institutional libraries.

    * William H. Wilson, of Lexington, is the associate vice president for external relations at Kentucky State University.  He represents library users.

    * Mary C. Congleton, of Berea, is a medical librarian at the University of Kentucky.  She represents special libraries.

    * John Christopher “J.C.” Morgan, of Cold Spring, is a librarian at Campbell County Public Library.  He represents public libraries.

    * William H. Hansen, of Irvington, is a library director with the US Army.  He represents special libraries.
 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Environmental Education Council to serve for terms expiring Oct. 5, 2014:

    * Karen P. Reagor, of Crestview Hills, is an education consultant with the NEED Project.  She represents education.  The appointment replaces Robert A. Roquemore, whose term has expired.

    * Amelia Stenger, of Owensboro, is a teacher and administrator with the Ursuline Sisters of Mount Saint Joseph.  She represents education.  The appointment replaces Allen Branscum, whose term has expired.

    * Shannon Sherman Graves, of Louisville, is an environmental manager and engineer with Cemex Kosmos Cement Company.  She represents industry.  The appointment replaces James D. Funk, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the council to serve for terms expiring Oct. 5, 2014:

    * Tom J. Fitzgerald, of Louisville, is an environmental advocate and director of the Kentucky Resources Council.  He represents environmental interests.

    * Marcus H. Norton, of Louisville, is a self-employed financial planner.  He represents industry.

    * William H. Brown, of Bagdad, is a civil engineer and land surveyor with W. H. Brown & Associates.  He represents environmental interests.

    * Cheryl L. Messenger, of Cave City, is an education specialist with Mammoth Cave National Park.  She represents educational interests. 

    * Evelyn Morgan, of Olive Hill, provides administrative support for the Daniel Boone National Forest.  She represents environmental interests.

    * Charles Gregory Higdon, of Fancy Farm, is president and CEO of the Kentucky Association of Manufacturers.  He represents industry.


Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Consumers’ Advisory Council to serve for terms expiring Sept. 8, 2013:

    * Marsha F. Williams, of Lexington. 

    * Audrey S. Wall, of Midway, is an editor with the Council of State Governments.

    * Jonathan M. Cantrell, of Georgetown, is a financial counselor with Consumer Credit Counseling Services. 

    * William H. Harned, of Shepherdsville, is retired.

    * Dora Nancy Price, of Staffordsville, is a governmental liaison with the Kentucky Division of Emergency Management. 

    * Maurice A. Byrne Jr., of Louisville, is a self-employed attorney.
 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the Kentucky Water Well Certification Board to serve for terms expiring Aug. 16, 2013:

    * Danny R. Kelly, of Clinton, is a self-employed water well driller.  He represents the people who use the rotary tool drilling method.

    * James S. Dinger, of Lexington, is a hydrogeologist at the University of Kentucky.  He represents hydrogeologists or hydrologists from the Kentucky Geological Survey.

    * Jim W. Bates II, of Williamsburg, is a well drilling and excavation contractor.  He represents people who use the cable tool and rotary tool drilling methods.

    * Orris E. Hayes, of Betsy Layne, is a drilling contractor with Hayes Inc.  He represents people who use the cable tool drilling method.

    * Roy H. Toney, of Lawrenceburg, is retired.  He represents the public at-large.
 

Gov. Beshear has reappointed David F. Hutcheson Jr. to the Personnel Board to serve for a term expiring Jan. 1, 2015.  The appointment is effective Jan. 2, 2011.

    * David F. Hutcheson Jr., of Paducah, is an environmental scientist and owner of 5H Technologies Inc.

Gov. Beshear has appointed D. Michael Griffin to the State Police Personnel Board to serve for a term expiring June 19, 2014.

    * D. Michael Griffin, of Crestwood, is retired law enforcement.  The appointment replaces JeanAnn C. Martin, whose term has expired.


Gov. Beshear has appointed Rita Sue Zirnheld to the Kentucky Board of Interpreters for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing to serve for a term expiring Oct. 1, 2014.

    * Rita Sue Zirnheld, of Danville, is a self-employed interpreter.  She represents certified practicing interpreters.  The appointment replaces Joyce S. Wilder, whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Marcie Rogers Jeffers to the board to serve for a term expiring Oct. 1, 2014.

    * Marcie Rogers Jeffers, of Frankfort, is a self-employed interpreter.  She represents certified practicing interpreters.
 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Prevailing Wage Review Board to serve for terms expiring Aug. 31, 2014:

    * Larry L. Roberts, of Lexington, is the state director of Kentucky State Building and Construction Trades Council.  He represents the construction industry.  The appointment replaces Thomas E. Gumm, whose term has expired.

    * William D. Hacker, of Frankfort, is a general contractor with Congleton-Hacker Co.  He represents labor organizations.  The appointment replaces Charles E. McCoy, whose term has expired.
 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Historic Properties Advisory Commission:

    * Kimberly Owens Plummer, of Fort Mitchell, is a member of the Gateway Community College Nominating Commission. The appointment replaces Cherri G. Moore, whose term has expired. Plummer shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 11, 2014.

    * Rita A. Stagg, of Henderson, is self-employed with Staff Industrial Develop. Corp. The appointment replaces Kenneth M. Clift, whose term has expired. Stagg shall serve for a term expiring Aug. 11, 2014.

    * Genevieve B. Lacer, of Simpsonville, is an author. The appointment replaces Darren J. Taylor, who has resigned. Lacer shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Aug. 11, 2013.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Lee Waterfield, of Frankfort, to the commission to serve for a term expiring April 11, 2014.
 

Gov. Beshear has appointed Harry W. Carloss Jr. to the Governance Board of the Lung Cancer Research Project.

    * Harry W. Carloss Jr., of Paducah, is physician in private practice. He represents the state at large. The appointment replaces Kristie J. Paris, who has resigned. Carloss shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending Sept. 25, 2012. Carloss will serve as chair of the board.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed the following members to the board to serve for terms expiring Sept. 25, 2014:

    * John W. Eaton, of Prospect, is a professor at the University of Louisville. He represents the University of Louisville College of Medicine.

    * Timothy W. Mullett, of Lexington, is a physician at the University of Kentucky. He represents the University of Kentucky College of Medicine.
 

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Agriculture Water Quality Authority to serve for terms expiring Oct. 1, 2014:

    * Corrine L. Mulberry, of Lexington, is an environmental contractor for the Oldham County Fiscal Court. She represents environmental interests. The appointment replaces Delmar Lee Robey III, whose term has expired.

    * Delmar Lee Robey III, of Adairville, is a farmer. He represents members at large from agriculture operations. The appointment replaces Robert C. Wade Jr., whose term has expired.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed Kevin R. Jeffries to the authority to serve for a term expiring Oct. 1, 2014. 

    * Kevin R. Jeffries, of Crestwood, is a self-employed farmer. He represents members at large from agriculture operations.

Gov. Beshear has appointed the following members to the Kentucky Board of Licensure of Marriage and Family Therapists to serve for terms expiring July 15, 2014:

    * Richard E. Hamon, of Winchester, is a marriage and family therapist for Bluegrass Board of Mental Health and Mental Retardation Inc. The appointment replaces Delbert J. Hayden, whose term has expired.

    * Carolyn Miller-Cooper, of Louisville, is an attorney for the Louisville Metro Government. She represents citizens at large. The appointment replaces Melissa D. Wade, whose term has expired.


Gov. Beshear has appointed Marybeth Orton to the Kentucky Board of Certification for Professional Art Therapists.

    * Marybeth Orton, of Louisville, is a professional art therapist. The appointment replaces Gina L. Anderson, whose term has expired. Orton shall serve for a term expiring July 15, 2014.

Gov. Beshear has reappointed John E. Sykes as a member of the board to serve for a term expiring July 15, 2014.

    * John E. Sykes, of Frankfort, is a systems analyst III for the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet. He represents citizens at large.

Gov. Beshear has appointed Shirley D. Trunnell to the Kentucky Nature Preserves Commission.

    * Shirley D. Trunnell, of Utica, is a teacher for Daviess County Schools. She represents the National Farmers Organization. The appointment replaces Aubin L. Mattingly, who has resigned. Trunnell shall serve for the remainder of the unexpired term ending July 1, 2012.
