Tebow tickets still available as Graves County Schools April 20 event nears
Tim Tebow tickets still are available – for now – for the Heisman Trophy winner’s upcoming talk at Graves County High School’s Eagles’ Nest Gymnasium at 6 p.m. Friday, April 20.
GCHS athletic director Doug Gloyd said the tickets range in price from $25 to $100 per person and may be purchased by calling him at (270) 674-4884 or 328-4884.
Proceeds will benefit the Graves County Eagle Foundation, a non-profit organization designed to help projects of the Graves County Schools financially.
Ticket buyers will travel from as far as South Carolina and Georgia, according to board member Darvin Towery. Gloyd estimates 60 percent of the crowd will consist of students. The two men made their comments in the Easter Sunday edition of The Paducah Sun newspaper.
That’s the same day Tebow spoke to a crowd of approximately 15,000 at an outdoor church service in Georgetown, Texas. Various national media reported several of the New York Jets quarterback’s comments made during an interview with Joe Champion, pastor of the Texas church live in front of the large crowd.
Tebow reportedly said he welcomes the popularity of “Tebowing,” the name given to his kneeling prayer stance, because it gets people to talk about their faith. He rejected some athletes’ claims that they are not role models. He also said it’s OK to be outspoken about faith and that America needs to return to its roots, emphasizing one nation under God.
