Sanders Rally had a rock concert atmosphere

Normally, the quiet of the Julian Carroll Convention center is reserved for the likes of the Chamber of Commerce luncheons or the meetings of the regional business groups. Grown men and women sit quietly for lunch or power point sessions.

Starting at 11:00 am on Sunday, the 15th of May, a storm of sound shook the Convention Center when several thousand supporters of Bernie Sanders for President, came to party.

The count of humanity for the event was placed at somewhere between 2100 and 2400. There were unconfirmed reports that not everyone who wanted in were admitted because of fire marshal occupancy limits.

Ages of one year up to over 80 years profile of people showed their support with home made and professional signs. Signs with bright colors, down home messages were the best. The Sanders Campaign staff passed out hundreds of professional bright blue message hand held signs.

Vendors hawked t-shirts and campaign buttons in the parking lot before and after the event. Some t-shirts with four letter messages for Sanders' opponents may not have been fit to be worn in polite company, but that didn't stop young people attending from gravitating to them.

Several oldsters observed that the rally resembled more a rock concert than a serious political gathering.

The entire event was much like being at the Fancy Farm, Kentucky annual political picnic - without the heckling.

Whether it translates into a Sanders victory or a Sanders movement remains to be seen. But those in attendance had a really good time.
