In addition to the obligatory GOP bashing, he told the crowd that West Kentucky gave him a win last November and he was fulfilling his campaign promise to give West Kentucky a seat at the table. He reiterated his commitment to finishing Highway 80 and the two bridges over Kentucky Lake.
In a foreshadowing of things to come, Republicans chanted “Greyson, Greyson” during the Governor’s speech. The crowd has made up its mind (at least for August 2008) who will challenge Beshear’s bid for a second term.
